Silver Creek Falls adapts picture book Not a Box into Apple TV+ preschool toon

Not a Box encourages kids to use their powers of imagination

Streamer Apple TV+ has ordered a preschool animated series based on author and illustrator Antoinette Portis’ picture book Not a Box.

Premiering in June, Not a Box aims to encourage children to tap into their creativity and embrace the power of imagination by following a bunny who imagines magical worlds full of new friends and adventures with just one cardboard box.

The eight-episode series is produced by Dete Meserve’s Silver Creek Falls Entertainment and written by Michael Rabb. Passion Pictures produces the animation and Siri Melchior directs.

Meserve and Rabb exec produce with Passion Pictures’ Debbie Crosscup and founder Andrew Ruhemann. Additional executive producers include NiteLite Pictures’ president Harry Lowell and Rock Paper Scissors founders Angus Wall and Linda Carlson.
